Registration tax of yachts

ANEN (National Association of Water Companies) is alarming the public administration since quite some time about the serious situation of falling sales in the marine sector, around 70% in the first half of the year.
 

ANEN is demanding the Government to take measures such as suspending temporarily the Spanish registration tax of 12% (which aggravates the price additionally to the VAT of 16% ) for vessels with a length of more than 8 meters for a private purpose, and boats over 15 meters for rent.
 

This change will undoubtedly encourage the demand and this would generate more business in the sector of boat building, maintenance, insurance, auxiliary industry, etc services.
